The Most Complete Introduction to CST Anywhere

In short, Intro to CST is an eight-week intensive coaching program and training community that will guide you to understand and implement the fundamental components of CST towards achieving your own health and fitness goals.

Synopsis

Intro to CST is an 8 week course designed with three purposes in mind:

  1. To get you in shape,
  2. To introduce or review the fundamentals of Circular Strength Training, and
  3. To build a community of health and mutual support.

To meet these objectives, we have built a state of the art learning environment tailored to suit various levels and learning styles.

8 Weeks to Change Your Body and Your Life

Intro to CST runs for eight weeks, and in that time we promise you’ll feel healthier, have more energy, and look better naked. We’re going to do everything in our power short of holding your hand to make sure you are successful.

The course itself is broken down into several components that we’ll be teaching you in a logical and effective sequence. There’s a lot of content to digest, but you’ll have lots of support and plenty of chances to ask questions if you get lost.

Course Breakdown

The course will consist of about 20 videos ranging in duration from about 5 to 30 minutes and an active discussion forum.

We will also provide the following supplemental materials:

  • call-in Q&A sessions with our coaches
  • a clear roadmap covering the tasks for each week
  • follow-along videos or .mp3s and charts for every workout
  • worksheets for some homework assignments
  • additional .mp3 lectures and discussions

Accountability and Evaluation

One unique feature of the Intro to CST course is the formation of accountability teams. In short, we’ll team you up with other members who share your goals and challenges, so you’ll always have somebody in your corner – both to cheer you on when you need support and to call you out when you start cheating.

This tough love can mean the difference between making excuses and making progress.

You will be responsible for logging your progress on the forums at least one each week and staying in touch with your accountability team on whatever schedule the group agrees on. You are responsible for your own results, and we will provide you with the tools to measure and evaluate your improvements over the duration of the course.

Intro to CST costs only $197 for eight weeks of fully-integrated training. There’s no more cost-effective way to learn CST directly from a Faculty Coach.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites, as this course is intended to serve both beginners and experienced athletes and trainers.

Though certainly not required, familiarity with CST/RMAX resources such as Intu-Flow and access to Clubbells can be beneficial. That said, this course is entirely self contained, and all exercises can be performed equally well with a dumbbell or even a satchel full of books. Many movements require no external resistance and can be performed on the floor in your living room.

The only actual requirements for participation in Intro to CST are the reliable internet access and about two to four hours a week to spend on training, introspection, and interaction. Participation in the Q&A sessions will require a phone or Skype.

Background

Intro to CST has been a very long time in the making… For probably as long as there has even been a CST, there have been people asking where to get started. As a system, CST is both wide and deep, and that can make it a bit difficult for new people trying to dive in and get the most out of their training.

Though each  separate “ring” of CST has a logical starting place, to date, there has never been a single course dedicated to integrating joint mobility exercise, Prasara yoga, and CST’s unique multi-planar exercise in a single package.

Intro to CST was created to fill this gap in the CST curriculum.

The first incarnation of this introduction was called “The Sandwich Course,” because one of CST’s central features is the combination of three “rings,” as explained below.  In practice, we tend to stack these three pieces up almost like a sandwich. The sandwich metaphor has the power to transform your workouts for greater effectiveness and better results – whether you’re looking to improve body composition, build strength and endurance for sports, or just lose a few pounds so you can feel good when you see yourself in the mirror.

What is the CST Sandwich?

The whole thing is based on a relatively simple idea: taking a great workout and sandwiching it between short routines for preparation and compensation. When you put it all together, it looks something like this:

  • Joint Wellness – Movements that not only improve your range of pain-free motion but actually prepare your joints to function optimally for the specific exercises you’ll be doing in your workout. This means optimal movement, greater efficiency, and better performance, with the result being that you get more out of each workout for accelerated results.
  • The Workout – Not just any old workout, but one that moves the body through all six degrees of freedom. This challenges your body to perform in ways that go well beyond the average gym workout to provide strength in unexpected positions and situations.
  • Compensatory Movement – Your high school gym coach probably told you to stretch after workouts, but you never felt comfortable taking health advice from a guy who looked pregnant. That’s OK – We’ll be showing you how to choose the best stretches and yoga movements to help your body recover from your workout as quickly as possible.

Greater Than the Sum of its Parts

Each of the components alone has the power to change your body and your life if used to their full potential, but the real power of the sandwich idea is the combined, synergistic effect of including them in a single program.

Of course, you wouldn’t just slap some random meat between any old bread with mayo and lettuce and call it a sandwich (unless you work at Andy’s old office cafeteria, but that’s a different story). The key to making a great sandwich is in choosing the right combination of ingredients, and this is especially true when we’re talking about the Intro to CST program.

Everything we’ll teach you in this course is specifically chosen to create the best results for your health and teach you how to apply the most important aspects of CST.

“What are your goals?”

It’s perhaps the most common and frustrating question that every CST Coach asks again and again on the RMAX forums. It’s an important question because specific goals are one of the keys to developing a quality training program. It’s a frustrating question because most people only have a vague idea of what their health goals really are.

Though we all want to “get in shape” and “look better,” we can make much faster progress by setting specific and measurable goals. Non-Specific goals lead to non-specific training and non-specific results.

This course includes a component (we say component, but it could really stand alone as a separate course in its own right) on setting and planning the kind of detailed and precise goals that are big enough to motivate you and specific enough that a CST Coach can give you the kind of advice that catapults your training to new heights.

While you’re experiencing what CST can do for your body, you’ll also learn how to think like a CST athlete and communicate your goals with the best coaches in the world.

What is Your Health Worth?

In the past, we’ve charged coaching clients hundreds of dollars for customized training and nutrition programs. Intro to CST costs $197 for full membership in the 8 week program. Considering that the instructional videos alone could sell for almost that much, this is an absolute steal.

Think about it this way: we’re talking about $25/week for exercise instruction, program planning, nutritional guidance, Q&A sessions, and a dedicated forum, plus direct access to and instruction from RMAX Faulty and CST Instructors.

We’re going to spare us all the standard sales pitch where we try to convince you that this is a good price. Intro to CST is not a standard program – it’s better. To be honest, we don’t want any members who need to be convinced. If $197 sounds like too much to pay to be in your best shape ever, you probably don’t value your health enough to get the full benefit of this course.
